FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I want to bring my vehicle to Royalty but my insurance company says I have use their shop. What can I do?
You may have the shop of your choice make the repairs. You are not required to use a shop selected by an insurance adjuster. However, you are required by your policy to allow your insurance company a reasonable amount of time to inspect the damages prior to repairing them. Do I have to worry about work being performed without my consent?
Only you, the owner, can authorize repairs on your vehicle. I am unable to drive to the shop. Can you pick me up and bring me to my car or bring my car to me when work is complete?
We offer free pickup and delivery throughout the Bay Area. My insurance company says the shop they recommend warranties their work.
Royalty offers the same or better with a lifetime warranty. What type of warranties are typically offered with auto body work?
We warrant all defects in materials and workmanship on all body and refinishing work performed by our shop. This warranty is for a lifetime. Customer must present a certificate along with a copy of payment. Please click here to view a copy of our warranty (PDF version). How accurate is my estimate?
Repair estimates will vary. A lower estimate may not include necessary items such as front or rear wheel alignments or re-aiming your headlamps. What is a supplement?
A supplement is created to add damages not seen on the original estimate. If the insurance estimate seems low, it is probably because it is only a preliminary. Most damages require a supplement to finalize the estimate. Call us and we will happy to explain the supplement process. What do I need to know about my insurance company and their policies?
Your insurance company wants your vehicle to repaired back to pre-accident condition and for you to be completely satisfied with their claim service. You have specific rights and obligations that you should be aware of. Review your policy. Understand your rights. If an agreement cannot be reached between your insurance company and the repair shop, your policy has an "Appraisal Clause" whereby an independent appraiser can be called in to help resolve the matter. Do I (or should I) get more than one estimate?
You are not required by law to get more than one estimate. Sign releases only when the repairs have been completed to your satisfaction. My car has mechanical damage related to the accident. Can Royalty help me with that?
Yes! Royalty is a full service shop equipped to handle any collision related mechanical damage i.e., a suspension or radiator damaged in a accident. Will my premium increase if I file a claim?
Practices vary from company to company. In general, an insurer will increase your premium by specific percentages for each chargeable claim made against your policy above a specific dollar amount. A chargeable claim is one the insurer considers primarily your fault. The percentages and ceilings vary from company to company. These increases generally stay on your premium for three years following the claim. You should contact your insurance agent prior to opening a claim and ask him this question to assure your premium will not increase. |
